PAIGE & CHRIS
THE RIVER ROOM | CHICAGO, IL
When Paige and Chris first described their dream wedding, they painted a picture that was equal parts red, romantic, soulful, and a little moody—with just enough edge to feel modern. They wanted everything to feel intentional, almost like an old Hollywood film starring the two of them, with small personal touches threaded throughout the day.
After a lot of conversation (and an unhealthy amount of Pinterest scrolling), we started building their vision piece by piece. Red naturally carries so much romance, so it became the perfect base to work from. Because they didn’t want a wide color palette, we had to get creative in how we layered it in without letting it feel flat or overpowering.
We landed on a dark cherry red as the core tone, then mixed in deep burgundies through the florals to give everything depth and dimension. Dried amaranthus added a softer, textural moment that played beautifully with the moodier tones. Fabrics were another way we brought the look to life—rich satin draping paired with more understated cotton linens to create contrast without losing an elevated feel.
To add a sense of timeless character, we brought in vintage silver and pewter pieces—frames, candle holders, floral vessels—each one adding its own little bit of charm. And naturally, we leaned into candlelight. Between the tapers and pillars, it felt like the entire space had a warm, cinematic glow.
One of my favorite personal details was Paige’s love for cherubs. Instead of making them a theme, we tucked them into quiet corners—on signage, matchbooks, even in some of the draping—so they felt more of a meaningful accent character.
In the end, their wedding felt exactly like them: romantic without being overly sweet, elevated but still soulful, polished with a few intentional edges. It was intimate, personal, and full of heart—and I couldn’t be more grateful to have been a part of it.
